Social Studies Test – Almost in the Bag!
Leary School’s first ever 5th grade ESL bloggers, completed part one of the NY State Social Studies test this morning. Armed with strategies galore, the three students spread themselves out in a large, sun-drenched room for almost two hours of mind-boggling multiple choice questions. Faced with maps and charts, diagrams and pictures, the students tried to read between the lines and avoid the traps set by the department of education. Did they succeed? Well, only time will tell! They left the room cheerful and chatty. Tomorrow, we will meet again for part two. Let us hope that their eagerness continues.
